Khanyi Dhlomo's fairytale wedding

Former media personality and cousin to Sizwe Dhlomo (father's side) enjoyed a classic storybook wedding this past December to her long-time beau and Nigerian-American business mogul Chinezi Chijioke. Khanyi Dhlomo is currently the founding editor of South Africa's Destiny Mag and True Love Magazine editor, and was named one of the most influential women in media by The Media magazine. (Just as a Did You Know: Khanyi started her career as a newscaster and then transitioned to the magazine industry at age 22 when she took over as the Editor of True Love Magazine, and under her leadership, the magazine thrived and expanded into other African countries)
Khanyi, formerly Khanyi Dhlomo-Mkhize says they met in 2005 when she was completing her MBA at Harvard Business School at a fundraiser for the African Leadership Academy run by a mutual friend of the two. The pair got engaged in February 2009 after a traditional proposal.

The wedding was attended by 300 of the power couple's family and friends in a beautiful wedding ceremony at a venue in Franschheok, the Cape Winelands. Khanyi looked every bit the queen that she is clad in an ivory-coloured organza dress by designer to the stars, Elie Saab while Chijioke was equally eye-catching in his black power suit and baby blue tie.

The Spotlight On: Sizwe Dhlomo

26 year old Durbanite Sizwe Dhlomo is undoubtably one of the most well known, and loved faces of African television. In 2005 at the age of 21, he put aside a promising career as a computer programmer to try out for a chance to become MTV Base's first ever VJ when they conducted their VJ search in South Africa. Having failed to be selected the first time in Kwazulu-Natal, he made a brave move by following the VJ search all the way to Johannesburg with a friend. Long story short, they both were finalists and Sizwe wins the coveted position.

Fast-forward to the present and you can definitely say he made the best decision of his life back then. Recently featured in GQ magazine (South Africa) as Best Dressed Male, and having stayed with the fledgling channel MTV Base, Sizwe has scored interviews with and hung with the likes of "the queen of Harlem" Teyana Taylor, played pool with Ne-yo, Akon, Sean Paul, John Legend, do lunch with Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis McCoy etc etc, the list goes on. Add to his crown that he is both the VJ and producer of his lifestyle show Player on MTV and extensively involved in their Electronic Media Department (so he's living BOTH his dreams); travelled the world with MTV hanging with the stars , partied with Interscope artists; represented Africa and even presented an award at the MTV Europe Music Awards( ---phew!) and you have yourself one focused African prince (yes I know it sounds corny).

But Sizwe wont settle for being stuck as a VJ for years. Oh no, he has secured a radio show with long -time buddy and school-friend Siyabonga Ngwekazi and the two present a very hot youth show on YFM cleverly named Siz' n Scoop (Scoop being Siya's nickname). Word on the street is that South African starlets go to silly lengths just so he'll notice them. He currently owns a house in Fourways, Joburg (yes ladies, ka renti!) and a sweet ride. -- Oh and speaking of rides...

I know a lot of my African sisters, like myself, in the diaspora are starved of intelligent men for eye-candy and I certainly am not a groupie, like AT ALL but eiish.... *bites lip*...

HHP goes international

South African Hip Hop uberstar, Hip Hop Pantsula has hit the big time once again, as he has recorded songs with international artists soul singer Goapele, hip hop star Nas, and multi-platinum Hatian artist, Wyclef Jean. The multi-award winning star South African star is said to have paid Hip Hop Legend Nas R100 000 to record a song with his idol, titled Keledimo to be released in a 25-track double CD Dumela which is soon to be released.

In the song, HHP (real name Jabulani Tsambo) speaks about wanting to be seen as a human who makes mistakes rather than the idolisation he currently receives.

iGucci wishes him more success in the future and is glad to see more African artists succeed!

In an interview, the 29-year old SA star said that , because he respects Nas' craft, he decided to go the standard route for featuring an artist on a track. He says it is money he wont regret spending as he got what he always wanted.

HHP has in the past collaborated with other stars within the African continent such as Jazz legend Jimmy Dludlu, Nigerian artist Naeto C, and South African artist Danny K.
